My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Spice, the sweetest blend of fun and kind all mixed up into a one year old pup! She is friendly, happy and has a well balanced temperament. She is as sweet as sweet can be! She'll instantly melt your heart with her big brown eyes and her persuasive efforts for affection.
She loves to be with her people as much as possible and will break for belly rubs. She is doing well with potty training and sleeps through the night in her crate.
She loves to play fetch with a ball, tug of war with her rope, and zoom around the yard. I think she would do best with a big backyard as she has a lot of energy and needs to stretch her legs out when she runs.
She loves sniffing around and playing outside when her people hangout with her in the backyard but doesn't love to be alone outside and will just hang out at the back door, waiting until she can be reunited with you again.
She loves to play with other dogs but does best with dogs that can match her energy, especially because she loves to use her paws to playfully box, but not every canine friend likes to tolerate that.
She is learning to walk beautifully on a leash but is working to redirect if we encounter a squirrel or bunny on the walk as she becomes hyper focused on that (strong prey drive). She doesn't know basic commands yet, but she is food/treat motivated and will learn them in no time! She is gentle and quiet, and would be a wonderful canine companion.
She is eager to meet her new family and start her new life here in Colorado!

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
