This helps Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc. with pet care costs.
- Large, handsome and loving cat
- He is a very sweet, people-oriented cat. Once he settles into your home, he will be an affectionate, loving cat who wants to be near his family, and will relax easily in calm, predictable home with structured routines
- Stressed around dogs and other cats and needs to be THE ONLY PET in his new home
- Has done well with children of all ages who are gentle with him
- LOVES canned food; especially seafood flavors and prefers shreds over pâté. Treats are always a hit!
- Welcomes attention and will lay his paw on you when he sits next to you on the couch
- He likes to "talk" to you and will let you know when he wants you to sit down so he can gets come pets and lovin'!
- He is also fine doing his own thing; not too clingy
- While in a foster home, he was initially startled by loud noises, and he did best when he had a place to hide and a calm human nearby. He usually came back out on his own fairly quickly, and gentle reassurance or a treat helped him reset and re-engage
- As he got more comfortable, he became more confident and curious, enjoying window views, exploring his space, and testing doors. Clear structure and having his own space made a big difference in how comfortable he was
- Looking for a home with patient family members who will give him time to open up and let him take things at his own pace. He does best when he starts out in his own room and is slowly introduced to the rest of the house over a few days/weeks
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
