Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Allow us to introduce Crowley — sleek, solid black, and fully aware of his dramatic presence. 🖤
At nearly 10 pounds, this handsome house panther has perfected the art of lounging. His favorite hobby? Supervising the room from his beloved bed like the mysterious overlord he is. He’s not lazy… he’s conserving energy for important activities, like accepting admiration.
Crowley is on the shy side at first. He prefers to scope things out, gather intel, and decide if you meet his very reasonable standards. But once you’re in his inner circle? Oh, you’re in. He warms up beautifully and will happily accept pets like the refined gentleman he is.
Now, let’s be clear: Crowley enjoys affection… but being picked up? Absolutely not on today’s agenda. He prefers his feet on the ground and his dignity intact. Lap-adjacent companionship and quality petting sessions are his love language.
If you’re looking for a low-drama, slightly sassy, extremely handsome best friend who will bond deeply (on his terms, of course), Crowley is ready to grace your home with his shadowy charm.

More about this rescue
The Humane Society of Harris County was founded in 1991 and has continually serviced Harris County and the surrounding area for 34 years. HSHC currently provides shelter and adoption opportunities for homeless dogs and cats though a small network of foster homes and a small kennel on loan to us by a Harris County resident. Just over 2000 animals have found new, permanent homes since 2008. In addition, we provide numerous outreach programs including:
• HSHC Pet Food Pantry, which is run in coordination with the Harris County Meals-on-Wheels program. The program has distributed over 90,000 pounds of food since its inception.
• “Tag You’re It”, a pet identification initiative that encourages residents to properly identify their pets by offering low cost microchips and tags. Over 1000 resident dogs and cats have been identified through this program.
