Meet Jimmy Dugan
Jimmy Dugan is named after the goofy Tom Hanks character in A League of Their Own because he makes his foster mom smile every time she sees him. He lives his life for today.
Dugan is an 11-month-old neutered purebred Border Collie with a joyful, goofy spirit that will make you smile every day. He lives very much in the moment and approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. While he has a sensitive side and could use some confidence building, Dugan is eager to learn and wants to do the right thing.
He enjoys chewing appropriate toys, is learning basic commands like sit, down, and shake, and is crate trained. Dugan does best when given enrichment or something to keep him busy when left alone, so an apartment setting is likely not the best fit for him right now. His potty training is coming along well, with only a couple of accidents as he continues to learn. And yes, he’s still a puppy at heart and likes to suckle on a blankie when he’s sleepy.
Dugan does great with other dogs but would do best in a home without cats or small children. His coat was a bit rough when he arrived, but it’s already improving with good nutrition and consistent care in his foster home.
Dugan is adoptable through Mo-Kan Border Collie Rescue. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is being fostered in the Detroit Michigan area.
