My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Having come from a rough start to life, it`s no wonder that Teddy can take quite a bit of time to warm up to new people. To gain this boy`s trust, you have to go slow, use lots of delicious squeezy cat treats, and give him the space he needs to adjust. When you respect Teddy`s boundaries, that`s when you start to see his affectionate, cuddly, and curious side! He`ll happily flop over for all of the pets and is even a big fan of being brushed!

Because Teddy can be quite hissy when he feels scared, he`ll need a calm, quiet home with no kids as they are too rambunctious for him. Teddy is also still recovering from being hit by a car and may need some extra support with getting around his new space (extra platforms to jump on, more rugs to help him walk on tricky smooth surfaces!, etc).

This special boy will need an extra special person to help him be the kitty companion he was meant to be. Will it be you?

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
