CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA: Special foster needed for a special kitty! Tim is a sweet senior cat who was recently rescued after living outside for many years. He is adjusting to indoor life with his rescuer, Marcia, and is enjoying lots of good food, comfort and attention. Marcia writes:
“Tim’s story is bittersweet. He lived on his own for about 10 years and was clearly having mouth pain and meowing for help when I trapped him and booked him a vet appointment. Although we couldn’t pet him outside, once he was safely at home, things changed quickly. For the first few days, he was scared and not eating much — but within a week he was rolling over, stretching, and inviting love and attention.
Tim loves having his head stroked, receiving attention, and being spoiled with lots of soft food. I nicknamed him Timmy Cupcake because he loves having his chin cupped in my hand.
At Tim’s recent vet visit, I learned that he was FIV positive and was also badly in need of dental work. The dental procedure has now been done, and this has made him much more comfortable. But sadly, a biopsy of his tongue — where a piece was missing — showed that he has oral cancer. His prognosis is uncertain, but right now Tim does not appear to be in pain. He eats very well, seems comfortable and happy, and the drooling he had previously is now minimal.
I am seeking a long-term foster, or possibly a foster-to-adopt, for Tim. I would continue to manage his medical care and cover the cost of his soft-food diet. I’m looking for someone who has a peaceful indoor environment, some experience with shy cats, and ample time to give Tim the attention he loves and deserves.”
It is estimated that Tim was born between 2014 and 2016; his exact age is unknown. He has been neutered and tested negative for FeLV, positive for FIV; he is up to date on his shots.
This is a courtesy post, and Tim is in a private foster home in El Sobrante, California. For more information about fostering Tim, please contact Marcia at mslack199@gmail.com or by text/phone at 510-734-9924.
