Take the Pet Home
This helps Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc. with pet care costs.
HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org
---
- Has done very well with other cats
- Once he settles into his new home, he is a fun, mischievous and spunky cat!
- He loves treats! It's an easy way to entice him out of his comfort zone and bond with him
- Children are too much for him (older kids or no kids preferred)
- Looking for a home with patient family members who will give him time to open up and let him take things at his own pace. He does best when he starts out in his own room and is slowly introduced to the rest of the house after a few days
- Has a lot of love to give and will be a terrific companion for a quiet person or two who will allow him to settle in at his own slow pace
- Will be a wonderful friend for a calm, patient person who loves the quiet life just like he does
This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life!
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
