My name is Splinter!

Born outdoors and rescued after a year on the streets, I am a 'tough guy' who discovered he’s actually a total sweetheart.

When I first came inside, I was terrified. But my desire to be loved was even stronger than my fear. Even while I was shaking, I would roll over to show my belly—the ultimate sign of trust—just hoping for a kind hand.

I’ve conquered my biggest fears and realized that the 'indoor life' is the best life! I’m still learning, and I still have some growing to do, but I promise that your patience will be rewarded with total loyalty and adoration.

My Favorite Things:
​Belly Rubs: I’m a pro now! I’ll even gently guide your hand back to me if you stop too soon.
​Sunny Windows: I could spend all day basking in a sunbeam.
​Conversation: I’m quite the chatty fellow and love a good back-and-forth talk.
​Playtime: I’m just discovering how fun toys can be! (Ask my foster mom about my favorites).
​Perfect Manners: I’m a star with the litter box—no accidents here.

​My Dream Home:
​I am looking for a patient human who understands that trust is a journey, not a race. Because I’m still learning to navigate the world of people, a calm environment where I can continue to blossom at my own pace is best.
​Other Cats: I’d likely enjoy a feline friend with a slow, proper introduction.
​Dogs: Unknown, but it's likely I could warm up to one
​Children: Older, cat-savvy children who understand boundaries would be best

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

• $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
• $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
• $200 for kittens (6 months & under)   
• $125 for cats (older than 6 months)   
• $75 for senior cats (8 years or older)

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
