Hera is an almost 2.5-year-old sweetheart with a gentle soul and a lot of love to give. She is deaf and has a slight head tilt, which only adds to her charm and makes her extra special. Hera is incredibly affectionate with people and truly thrives on human companionship.
According to her foster, Hera loves being in the same room as her person, keeping you company while gazing out the window. She has absolutely no volume control on her meows, which just means she has a lot to say and isn’t shy about saying it! She’s a big fan of treats and will happily snuggle up and sleep on you at night.
Because Hera can’t hear other animals coming, she feels safest as the only pet in the home. In the right environment, she blossoms into a loving, loyal companion who just wants to be near her people.

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!
WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
