Meet Jax! He can be shy at first and will need an adopter who is willing to be patient with him while he acclimates to his new home. Once Jax warms up, he is very sweet and loves to get pets. He will gladly give you head bumps for pets and will play with toys once he`s comfortable. If you`re interested in adopting Jax, stop by HSC today!
Jax has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a feline-only retrovirus that affects a cat’s immune system and cannot be transmitted to humans. Cats who test positive for FIV can live many happy years without serious symptoms, and they can live with FIV-negative cats as long as they get along well. Jax would love a home that can ensure he receives regular veterinary checkups and prompt care if he ever feels under the weather.
All adoptions are handled on a first-come, first-served basis at our Adoption Center, located at 1348 Parker Drive. No appointment is needed to meet your future furry friend! Hours: Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m.–5 p.m., Friday 11 a.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Charlotte believes in working to improve our community by creating new, loving families, and building a world where there are no more homeless and unwanted animals. This is an ongoing process — for every animal we can connect with a new family, another animal in need comes to HSC’s shelter. As a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the HSC relies on the generous support of animal lovers, grants, bequests, and fees for service.
HSC is not affiliated with any other animal welfare organizations and we do not receive government funding.
