My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Note: Currently, Pobee is in a foster home in Toronto.

Background
Pobee is a sweet and gentle boy who was rescued this past summer from a city pound in Milyang. He lived happily with other dogs at our partner boarding house until he left Korea. Currently, he is in a foster home in Toronto.

Personality & Socialization
With a medium energy level, Pobee is gentle, friendly, and affectionate. He greets visitors warmly and quickly becomes comfortable around them. At first, he may approach slowly and cautiously, but once he feels safe, his playful and loving side shines through. Pobee gets along well with other dogs and especially enjoys playing with those around his age and size.

Behaviours
Pobee enjoys gentle playtime and relaxing moments with his dog friends. He’s easygoing and loves being around people he trusts. He takes his bathroom breaks outside but will also use indoor pads if needed. Pobee rides well in the car and handles baths without fuss. He’s still learning leash walking, but in a home setting, he tends to follow his people closely. He’s quiet, well-mannered, and has not shown any destructive behaviors.

Health & Diet
Pobee is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He’s dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. Pobee maintains a healthy weight on a regular diet and eats dry food twice a day. He has not shown any allergies.

Ideal Home
Pobee would thrive in a loving home where he is not left alone for long hours. He would be happiest with someone who works from home or is retired and can spend plenty of time with him. He enjoys companionship, gentle exercise, and a calm, steady routine. Pobee is a gentle soul who brings warmth wherever he goes and is ready to open his heart to a forever family who will give him the love and security he deserves.

More about this rescue

Free Korean Dogs is a registered charity founded in 2015 with the mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever-loving homes for dogs saved from the Korean dog meat trade.

We divide our mission across three basic pillars: RESCUE, ADOPT, and ENGAGE.

Since 2015, we’ve made huge advances in all three areas, shutting down three dog meat farm operations, facilitating the adoption of 1,800 rescue dogs, and launching Freedom Walk, our annual event to raise public awareness about the Korean dog meat trade:

RESCUE
Our organization has made significant strides in rescuing dogs from the dog meat trade, high-kill shelters and other high-risk conditions in Korea. We shut down dog meat farms and liberated over 500 dogs from unbearable suffering and despair.

ADOPT
Through our unwavering commitment, we have found forever-loving homes for more than 1,800 dogs rescued from brutal circumstances. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rehabilitate these animals and find them a new life filled with love and care.

ENGAGE
Our mission extends beyond rescue and adoption; we are dedicated to building a compassionate community. Through educational campaigns and events, we engage with individuals and organizations to create a cultural shift from cruelty to compassion.
