Current Weight: 4 kg

Rescue Story

Oat was rescued from an animal hoarding situation. Despite his difficult start, he has grown into a friendly, curious, and affectionate puppy.

‍‍ People Socialization

Oat is very affectionate and enjoys approaching both familiar people and strangers. He loves leaning in for pets and is comfortable being handled.

He has not yet been exposed to children under 13, but once he feels comfortable, he happily shows his belly and enjoys close contact.

Dog Socialization

Oat is friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and loves greeting and inviting them to play.

He generally does best with dogs of a similar size, but he is not afraid of larger dogs and will happily play with them too. If play becomes physically overwhelming for him, he may show a bit of sass. Older dogs often do a great job guiding and playing with him.

Cats

His reaction to cats has not yet been observed, but a cat test is possible.

Energy Level

Moderate energy level.

Walks

Oat has not started outdoor walks yet as he is still completing his vaccinations.

Other Notes

• No food guarding with people or other dogs

• May bark demandingly when he wants something

• Separation anxiety is currently mild, but since he has always lived with other puppies, it may appear if left alone

• Cries when placed in a crate and wants to be let out

• Currently uses both pee pads indoors and outdoor potty

• In the teething stage and may chew on objects due to itchy gums

Oat is a sweet, social puppy who will thrive in a loving home ready to guide him through puppyhood

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
