Blaze is an incredibly sweet and energetic kitten who turns every day into playtime. Born around September 7, 2025, he'll turn one year old this coming September- right now, he's that perfect "big kitten" age full of curiosity and zoomies, but already settling into a loving, affectionate personality.
Rescued as a tiny solo at just 4 weeks old, he's grown into a total lovebug who adores romping and wrestling with our other young cats - he's never met a toy (or a playmate) he didn't instantly adore! He's wonderful with children, gentle and patient, making him a great fit for families with kids who want a fun feline friend.
While he's a bit nervous around dogs since he hasn't been around them much, he's young, adaptable, and would do beautifully in a patient home willing to give him time to adjust - he's already shown he can warm up quickly with kindness and positive experiences.

All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all shots prior to adoption. Adoption fees range from $0 to $125, based on the age and health of each individual animal.

All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets. Clay County Animal Shelter is a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization. The Clay County Animal Shelter (CCAS), aka “Annie’s Dream”, was founded as a no-kill shelter in 2000 by Clay County residents Annie McClintock and vets, Drs. Steve and Polly McDonald in Henrietta, TX.
The shelter’s mission is to provide an alternative to euthanizing abandoned cats and dogs in Clay County. CCAS takes in, cares for, and trains its cats and dogs as our animal handlers work to find forever homes for them, no matter how long it takes. CCAS also provides programs, when we have grants to do so, to encourage spaying/neutering to control overpopulation, such as its free spay-and neuter clinic that treated 184 cats and dogs.
