Meet the Pet

Ella is a 1-2 year old, 14-pound, black and white, short-haired pup that looks like she has some long-back dog in her mix. She is absolutely adorable with her doe eyes, freckles and cow spots. She is not a super energetic dog, she plays with her foster dog siblings and toys for a little bit in the morning and around dinner time, but then settles down quickly on the couch. She sleeps nicely during the day with her foster siblings while her foster mom works from her home office.
Ella was one of the very scared “Flea Market Dogs” that came up from Kentucky in late September. She had just had puppies and she did not know humans could be trusted to be kind and loving. It took some time, but Stella learned that humans won’t hurt her. She takes some time (a few days) to warm up to new people but after that first warm-up period, she is a friendly, happy and snuggly dog. She has enjoyed learning about the joys of being a family pet. She is wonderful with other dogs and in fact, should be adopted into a home that has a confident dog since she trusts dogs first and it will help with her transition to her forever home. Ella currently goes potty on potty pads since she is still incredibly nervous outside.
This sweet little girl will require a bit of a warm-up period, but your patience, consistency and kindness will be rewarded with a loyal companion, and you will get to see her continue to grow into a friendly and confident dog.

The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.
