My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buddy — the once-in-a-lifetime dog who almost never got his chance.
Buddy stared death in the face. Just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized at a Texas shelter—not because he was aggressive, sick, or unlovable, but simply because he didn’t have a home—we said yes. That decision saved an extraordinary life.
A Dutch Shepherd/Malinois mix, Buddy is the kind of dog that makes you stop and say wow. If dogs took the ACTs, Buddy would be Ivy League bound. He’s not high-strung—just highly intelligent. Sensible, calm, and deeply thoughtful, Buddy has a steady presence that makes you feel like everything is going to be okay. He enjoys the simple things in life: peaceful walks, quiet moments, and curling up for a good movie night.
Buddy is incredibly motivated by his person’s approval—verbal praise means the world to him—and while he aims to please, treats definitely help too (because treats never hurt anything).
Having come so close to losing everything, Buddy seems to know exactly what he wants now: a family to love and protect. He’s loyal, devoted, and ready to belong. He’s also dog-friendly, so he’d be happy to share his life with a canine sibling.
And the looks? Buddy is stunning. His gorgeous brindle coat turns heads, but it’s his soul that stays with you. He is the full package: brains, beauty, and a heart that has already survived more than it ever should have had to.
Buddy is a once-in-a-lifetime dog who nearly didn’t make it out. Now all he needs is someone to make his happy ending real.
