`We cannot guarantee that a specific cat or kitten will be available during your visit. We also cannot place holds on kittens.` Doublestuff is a shy but affectionate senior male cat with wise eyes and a story written in every whisker. His owner passed away and he is now at the shelter sad and alone, waiting for someone to come and adopt him. Change is hard when you`ve spent years loving just one person. He is shy at first when he meets you and may greet you with a hiss but it`s his way of saying `Please be patient with me.` Beneath that tough exterior is a tender heart. He communicates in slow blinks, the quiet language of trust, and once you earn his trust, you`ll know you`ve been chosen. He has decided that he can trust you if you are quiet and talk softly to him and offer soft pets on his head. He enjoys the simple things: a warm spot to nap, a calm home and read to in a gentle voice. Sit beside him with a book or even just talk softly-he listens. He may not always sit in your lap, but he`ll be nearby, keeping you company in his own quiet way. Doublestuff will blossom in a quiet home and would probably do better with a single person or couple who have time to give him love and attention. If you have a peaceful home and a soft heart for a senior cat who deserves his second chapter, he may be waiting just for you. He might be okay with another cat and would probably be better in a home where there`s no active young children. Compatibility with dogs is unknown. He says adopt me and you`ll get double the love all year long! Doublestuff is available for foster to adopt. Fill out an application online. You will receive an email once the application has been approved

Additional adoption info
At Parma Animal Shelter, we do not adopt our animals out as gifts or surprises. We believe that adopting a pet is a significant commitment and should be a well-considered decision. Therefore, we reserve the right to refuse any adoption to ensure the best match for both the animal and the adopter.
All of our animals are microchipped, tested for disease, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and internal parasites, and given lots of loving care during their stay with us. We are dedicated to meeting their medical needs and do our best to socialize them.
If you have questions about any of our cats, please feel free to email us at catadoptions@parmashelter.org. Our volunteers are more than happy to provide information about their personalities and any recommendations for the best home environment possible for each individual animal.
To start the adoption process, you can submit an application by visiting our website parmashelter.org. For cats, please use the following link: https://form.jotform.com/223634976258165.
