José is famously obsessed with headbutts: if you pat the couch while watching TV, he will scamper right over, hop into a lap (or several), and start purring like a motor while headbutting everyone in reach. Personal space is optional; affection is mandatory.
After a slightly rocky start with his foster sibling Rocky, the two are now best frenemies—always following each other around and claiming the best lounging spots (usually within one meter of each other, of course). José is friendly and chatty, and he especially enjoys saying good morning with an enthusiastic meow as soon as he notices you are awake.
When it is time to get extra cozy, José is all in. He loves cuddling on the couch, soaking up warmth, and even being tucked under the blankets, where he happily settles in like a little purring burrito. He is also good with dogs, making him a great fit for a multi-pet home. Steinbach and Area Animal Rescue is a primarily foster-based, non-profit organization that has served the south east of Manitoba since 2013. Volunteers are the lifeline of the organization, which is committed to finding forever homes for abandoned, homeless, and surrendered companion animals. The rescue has recently opened its doors to a new adoption centre at 39 Keating Road in Steinbach, MB. There are adoptable cats and dogs at the shelter, as well as a gift shop!
