My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RETIRED WORKING DOG!!

Gifford is a 5-year-old German Shepherd that faithfully served his country as a detector dog but needed to retire due to medical diagnosis of immune mediated polyarthritis.

He has been living in a home with 2 small dogs and has shown to be friendly with dogs of all sizes. He has not shown aggression towards cats or smaller sized dogs. He is crate trained and house broken. Due to his energy levels, he may be better suited in a home with older children. He absolutely loves car rides and is friendly with people.

Because of his medical condition, he takes daily medication. He can no longer get vaccinated although he did receive all his vaccines before his diagnosis. And he is currently unable to be neutered. Documentation can be provided to adopter regarding prior working status.

Our family deeply cares for him but cannot provide the level of time and engagement he deserves. Seeking a committed, loving home where he can thrive.
