My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gaines
Gaines is our almost seven year old Tree Walking Coonhound mix! She recently came to HAP when her previous owner was no longer able to take care of her. After spending most of her life in a loving home, it's understandable she's been having a hard time adjusting to shelter life. Gaines loves going on walks and is the perfect lady, never straying far from your side and hardly pulls. Though in true hound fashion, she does like to have her nose to the ground to follow all the good scents outside. Gaines loves her toys and her cuddles and would love to find a family where she can be the center of attention and soak up all the love and attention this sweetheart deserves. We'll continue to update her profile as she settles in and we get to know her better.

Gaines is spending the snow storm in a foster home in Rehoboth! Please call (302)200-7159 if you have any questions or want to get more information.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process
is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this
specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you
to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the
meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption
fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal
testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
