Meet this sweet, gentle fella named Calvin! He came into the shelter as a stray on January 15, 2026, and was never reclaimed. Now, he’s patiently waiting for his adoption day and a fresh start.
When Calvin first arrived, he was skin and bone, with calluses on his hind end and clearly down on his luck. Thanks to the love and dedication of the shelter staff and volunteers, he’s slowly gaining the weight he needed and beginning to come out of his shy shell.
At first, Calvin wouldn’t walk on a leash, but with time and patience he’s grown more eager to head outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine on his face. He absolutely loves treats and is very food-motivated—understandably so after being hungry for who knows how long.
During the recent snowstorm, we discovered that Calvin enjoys running and playing for a bit, followed by what he truly loves most: treats and snuggle time with his human friends.
Calvin is around 5 years old, current on shots, and recently neutered. If you love hounds, you truly need to meet this guy. With a little time, love, patience, and gentle guidance, Calvin will thrive in a home where he can settle in and feel safe.

We are a non-profit orginization relying on donations. We do have a contract witht the county to provide shelter for strays brought in. We have limited space but try to get our animals back to thier families and if that can not be accomplished we work hard on finding them new homes.
We do what we do because we love animals. We are realistic in in efforts, understand the problem and work towards educating the public on what needs to be done to prevent over population.
