My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Information: Alfalfa is a handsome 2-year-old, 50-pound, male Doberman Pinscher mix with the sweetest presence to match his good looks. He was at risk at the Stanislaus shelter, and after seeing his notes and videos we knew we had to save him. According to staff, this sweetheart absolutely loves attention and is always happy to soak up affection from his people. He's patient in his kennel, easy to leash, and walks nicely on leash with only minor pulling. Once he's in the yard, his playful side shines -- get ready for some serious zoomies! Alfalfa enjoy being pet all over and is especially a fan of booty scratches.

While he can be a little jumpy when excited, he listens well to "no" and "down", already knows how to sit and is eager to please. As a bonus, he's incredibly photogenic and always camera-ready!

Foster Profile:   Alfalfa is a sweet, soft boy with lots of love to give! He is energetic but not 'wild' and would make a great hiking or jogging buddy. He loves fetch in the yard, going on walks, and hanging out with his people getting pets and love. He is good in his crate and not vocal, potty trained, and rides well in the car. Alfalfa can be a bit mischievous and is learning the ropes of being in a house, but with proper guidance we believe he will thrive. He is very food motivated and wants to please, making training good stimulation for him.

Alfalfa can initially be a little shy around strangers, but warms up well given a little time. He’s doing great with the 11 and 13 year old kids in his foster home. Given his jumpiness, he might be a bit much for younger kids until he gets a little training under his belt. So far, Alfalfa hasn’t met many other dogs while in foster care as he just arrived in Seattle last week, but he was polite when meeting a neighbor dog, and hasn’t been reactive to dogs on leash when out walking. Overall, Alfalfa is a good boy just looking for his forever home in the PNW!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).
