Meet Gilmore Girl — A Shy Sweetheart Who Blossoms With Love
Gilmore Girl is a beautiful 3-year-old spayed female who’s had a big journey already. She arrived at the shelter as a stray with her four tiny kittens, and it was clear from the start that she and her little family hadn’t had much experience with humans. With gentle socializing, her kittens found their homes—and now it’s finally Gilmore Girl’s turn to be someone’s cherished companion.
At the shelter, this sensitive girl struggled with the busy environment, but an Animal Care Attendant could see her sweet side underneath the nerves. Once she went into foster care and had the chance to decompress, she didn’t take long to open up. In a calm home setting, Gilmore Girl has shown just how affectionate she can be—she loves being around her people, soaking up pets, and happily being the centre of attention.
Gilmore Girl will do best in a quiet, low-commotion home where she can feel safe and settled. She can still be shy in busy environments and may take time to trust new people, so she’s looking for an adopter who understands that confidence comes with patience. When she’s given the space to go at her own pace, her loving personality truly shines.
In foster, she’s living with another cat and seems mostly indifferent, but she would likely do best with calm feline friends only. A rambunctious, high-energy cat could be stressful for her. She hasn’t been tested with dogs or young children, and because she’s naturally reserved, she would probably thrive in a home with no dogs and children 12+ who can respect her boundaries and keep things peaceful.
If you’re looking for a gentle cat who just needs a little time to feel safe—and will reward you with affection and devotion once she does—Gilmore Girl could be the perfect match. Please call the shelter to arrange a meet & greet. She may feel frightened and shut down during the visit, but her foster will have videos and extra insight to show you the wonderful companion she becomes once she’s home.

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.
