Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Otis and Bigsby are two adorable black Labrador puppies who are ready to head off to their next big adventure — finding loving homes of their very own! While they can be adopted separately, both boys share that classic Lab charm: sweet faces, curious minds, and plenty of puppy energy to go around. Like all puppies, Otis and Bigsby are still learning the ropes and will need patient families ready to help with potty training, basic manners, and other typical puppy training. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love, these boys are sure to grow into wonderful companions. They’re playful, cuddly, and eager to learn, making them a great fit for adopters who are excited to put in the time and effort that comes with raising a puppy. If you’re looking for a loyal friend to grow up alongside you, Otis or Bigsby might be the perfect match.
Ready to Adopt?
You have two options:
#1- VISIT IN PERSON
Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter.
(Puppies in foster care are not available for in-person visits.)
#2- ADOPT SIGHT UNSEEN
If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the puppy first, we can help over the phone or by email. (413) 781-4000 x 1 or email springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
Puppies are adopted on a first come, first served basis, and we’re not able to place holds on them.
All puppy adoption fees include:
-spay/neuter
-kennel cough vaccination
-current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-microchip implanted & registered to adopter
-treatment of fleas & ticks
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
