My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An Easygoing Favorite in the Making

Austin is a sweet senior soul who is looking for a fresh start. Though he arrived at the shelter after his previous owners were unfortunately unable to keep him, we’ve had the chance to see his true personality shine through a recent foster placement. While the loud and busy shelter environment was understandably overwhelming for a refined gentleman like him, his foster reports that he blossomed the moment he stepped into a home. This firsthand insight has shown us that Austin is a resilient, friendly, and incredibly sweet dog who gets along famously with both people and other dogs.

Life with Austin is easy and rewarding, according to his foster family. He appears to be fully potty trained and is an absolute dream in the car, making him the perfect co-pilot for any adventure. While he may need a moment to adjust to new surroundings, his foster noticed that he quickly finds his groove; he already walks nicely on a leash and responds well to simple commands. He has a wonderful way of bonding with his caregivers, showing a deeply cuddly side and a genuine desire to be near his favorite people.

Austin would be an ideal match for someone looking for a social, mature dog who skips the puppy chaos and goes straight to loyal companionship. Because of the notes from his foster home, we know he is a senior who still has so much love to give and a heart that is ready to bond deeply with a new family. If you have a soft spot for older dogs and a comfortable spot on your sofa, Austin is waiting to meet you.
