My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Coquito — your future best friend wrapped in a playful, lovable package

Name: Coquito
Age: 2 years old
Breed: Terrier / Pointer mix
Weight: 40–50 lbs

Coquito is a sweet, energetic young pup who’s ready to find his forever home. He can be a little timid at first, but give him a bit of time and patience and he’ll quickly show you his true self — a loyal, affectionate BFF for life.

Coquito’s Highlights:

  • Good with other dogs
  • Not food, crate, or toy aggressive
  • Partially house-trained
  • High-energy and loves to play
  • Sweet, gentle nature once he warms up

What to Know:

  • He hasn’t yet been tested with children or cats
  • Would thrive with an adopter who can give him time to build confidence and plenty of opportunities to burn off his playful energy

Coquito is the kind of dog who will bond deeply with his person and reward that love with endless devotion. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion and are willing to let him settle in at his own pace, Coquito may be the perfect match for you.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
