Here's what the humans have to say about me:
A kitty who will love you from a distance but will remind you that he cares by purring a storm in your lap—meet Barbaro.
About Barbaro
When Barbaro first arrived at SHS, he was so scared and shy that he didn’t want to let anyone in. Over time with his welcoming foster siblings leading the way, Barbaro was able to open his heart to making friends and showing affection. Now an independent and confident cat, Barbaro loves to spend his days playing with his feline pals and taking cat naps on warm blankets or even on you!
Personality & Traits
~Energy Level: Mixed
~Great with: Other cats; calm dogs
~Loves: Toys, electric blankets, cuddling, and playing hide-and-seek.
~Good to Know: Barbaro is currently on a special diet for his digestion sensitivities—but one could say he has a special taste for cuisine.
Best Home For Me
Barbaro would thrive in a home with a cat best friend and adults/older children who will give him personal space. He would love a lively home to play in, a calm routine so he can get all his naps in, and the patience for him to not only nestle into your lap, but in your heart as well.
Perks & Compatibility
~Litterbox-trained
~Great with feline friends (if anything, he prefers to have one!)
~No history with children—most likely would do well with older children who can respect his boundaries.
~Currently in a foster home but would love to come home with you!
~With a slow introduction, he can do well with dogs.
Why I’m Special
It took some time and encouraging words (or meows) to take the scared kitten Barbaro once was and transform him into the courageous, compassionate feline he is today. If your family is ready to welcome a new member, Barbaro is ready to meet you. Reach out to gracec@spokanehumanesociety.org if you think Barbaro is the perfect match for you (and/or perhaps your cat).
