Birthdate: 04/10/2015
Breed: One of a kind
Weight: 50lbs
Riley’s story began in the beautiful Cayman Islands, where she was born and later adopted as a puppy. After spending many years in a loving home, she has found her way back to the rescue through no fault of her own—her caregivers could no longer keep her.
Now a senior gal, Riley still has so much love left to give. She is incredibly gentle, sweet, and kind-hearted, with a calm presence that makes everyone around her feel at ease. One of the first things you’ll notice is her adorable smile—she cheeses so big the moment she knows you’re coming for her, especially if it means a nice walk in the fresh air. Her ears are just as endearing, with a little flop at the tips, as if they’re not quite sure how they’re supposed to sit.
Riley’s eyes tell so many stories. They carry understanding, warmth, and a peaceful wisdom that makes you feel seen—like she’s simply happy to share a quiet moment by your side. She isn’t asking for much, just a soft place to land for her golden years where she can finally settle.
With a few minutes of patience (and some tasty treats!), Riley will be your friend for life right away. She’s ready to share her heart, her calm, and her gentle joy with someone willing to give her the love she so deeply deserves.
The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: https://www.pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire .
If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants.
The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
