Here's what the humans have to say about me:
✨ Meet Tommy – the Handsome, Gentle Giant ✨
Tommy is a stunning 2–3-year-old Boxer with the warm, rich coloring of a German Shepherd in his coat, giving him a truly one-of-a-kind look. He weighs around 90 pounds, and his personality is just as big as his heart.
This sweet boy is friendly with dogs, wonderful with children, and has a naturally calm, cautious nature when meeting new people—especially little ones. Once he knows you, he becomes a loyal, affectionate companion who loves nothing more than being close to his people.
Tommy is fully housetrained, vetted, neutered, and microchipped. He’s great for nail trims, lets you know when he needs to go outside, and has overall lovely manners. When left alone, he may occasionally nibble on his bed, but he’s never shown any aggression or bitten anyone.
His favorite activities? 🎾 Long games of fetch 💛 Being by your side for snuggles and pets
Tommy’s owner is taking a new job that requires frequent travel and simply can’t give him the time and attention he deserves. This is a difficult, heartfelt decision, and they want to ensure Tommy finds a home where he’ll be cherished.
Tommy will thrive with a family who can give him companionship, consistency, and a place to belong. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog who brings both calm and joy into a home, Tommy could be your perfect match. An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice. Cats and kittens are a donation of choice.
