My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Siri, the 2-year-old chow mix who's equal parts brains, beauty, and belly-rub extraordinaire! At 45 lbs of calm, sweet energy, she's the total package — gentle, affectionate, and ready to shine in a home of her own.

Siri recently joined a new home setup with a familiar dog friend and has been thriving! She's enjoying calm routines, cozy evenings, and even has a new favorite hobby — watching dog shows on TV. Her confidence has bloomed, and she's showing her affectionate, easygoing side more than ever. She shines brightest when she's part of a calm, loving pack and would love a home with another balanced dog to show her the ropes.

Why Siri's a Must-Meet:
- Dog-friendly & drama-free
- Leash pro (especially with a confident pup buddy!)
- Crate queen & easy traveler
- Low-shed, sleek coat = no fur tumbleweeds
- Snuggly, soulful, and low-maintenance
- 100% certified Good Girl™

Siri isn't the loudest in the room — she's the one who quietly wins your heart and never lets it go. She's ready for slow walks, cozy nights in, and all the love she's been waiting for.

**Siri is being fostered in Austin, TX. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.**

More about this rescue

Houston Chow Chow Connection is a collaborative of dog lovers and rescuers that dedicate their time, efforts and talents toward helping rescue Chow Chows in need. We are an entirely volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) organization with no administrative costs.

Our rescue traces its origin back several years to the work of Dianne Watson. Dianne dedicated much of her young life to saving homeless Chows in North and West Texas. In her memory, Houston Chow Chow Connection continues her passion of uniting Chow Chows with perfect forever families.

HCCC began rescuing in 2013 and re-homed over 400 dogs since inception, including over 125 in 2017! Our dogs found homes on the East and West coasts of the U.S. and have traveled north and south! As we continue to rescue and re-home more and more Chows, our costs grow. As you may know, rescuing animals takes money. Not only is there the typical care and upkeep (including food and general veterinary care), some of our rescues need specialized treatments.

At HCCC we don’t pick and choose the dogs we rescue – they pick us. While the majority of our rescues are healthy, we never turn our backs on the homeless, Chows with physical issues, or disabilities. Some of our incoming babies have suffered long-term and extensive neglect. New HCCC dogs may require spay/neuter, shaving due to extensive matting, entropion and/or hip replacement surgeries, treatment of skin problems and a variety of other issues.
