My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A FUN & ACTIVE GIRL:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 46 lbs.

Hi there, I’m Andie, but I answer to the name Pepper (please refer to Andie though when inquiring about me as that’s the name all my records are under).  I was adopted as a puppy, but sadly that didn’t work out long term, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts.  My previous family cared about me very much, but wasn’t able to provide the time, training, and exercise I needed, and there was also an allergy in the home.  I look forward to a fresh start with a well-matched forever family.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts and I didn’t care to play with them, but I also didn’t show any aggression.  My former owner reported that I got along with some dogs I met while I was with them with a proper introduction, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet. / My former family reported that I did not like cats and I tried to chase the cat in my temp. foster home, so best no cats. / I liked the kids I met with my former family though I don’t recall their ages, so if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a very sweet, playful, friendly, and loving girl with a soft coat and a smart mind.  In my former home, I’d sit outside the kitchen while my family cooked and was just happy to be near them.  I’ll also lie at your feet and I’d thrive with a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member that I can pal around with.  I was amazing in the paw spa, too, sitting calmly for my bath and ear cleaning, showing off what a happy, well-behaved, loving (and strong!) girl I am.  I may need a little extra time to warm up to tall male strangers, and going slow helps me feel safe and confident. / Energy level: 5-7, though my former family reported it was a bit higher, so I’d love a family that will be active with me.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  So far, I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands, and I’m working on my leash manners as I do pull.  My former family reported that I could be jumpy and a little possessive of toys, so perhaps I just need more exercise and training. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, and they were also good in my former home as well as in a temp. foster home where I slept in there through the night. / My potty manners have been good at Mostly Mutts as well as in my former home with only the occasional accident on a regular schedule.  In my temp. foster home, I had a few accidents when left alone.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love being close to my people - some say right under your feet at times, soaking up snuggles and good belly rubs, and going for walks where I smile the whole time.  I also enjoy racing around outside - especially in a fenced-in yard with my family where I leap with happiness like a little baby goat.  I haven’t met any food I didn’t love, though I do need a little help slowing down when it’s time to eat, so perhaps a slow feeder bowl would be good for me.  Squeaky toys are fun, and I also like car rides and strawberries.  / I wasn’t a fan of the blow dryer after a bath in my former home, so just towel dry me – easy peasy!  I also wouldn’t be happy being alone too much or in a home where I didn’t get enough love, attention, training and exercise.

• MEDICAL:  I’m current on my annual immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have some dry skin that is being treated with medicated baths that can easily be continued in my new home.

I’m a wonderful girl looking for a family that will be active with me and love me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
