My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gallant is a sweet gentle boy who loves to play, explore and ever-so-casually sidle up for a cuddle on your lap or against your leg. He is chatty when he wants something and is always down to chase after a wand toy, jingly ball or catnip mouse.

He has done well with other cats, however he does have a submissive personality and would not do well with aggressive or bossy kitties who would see his deferential behavior as an invitation to bully him.

Gallant has also had mixed experiences with humans in his short life: Some were wonderful, some were horrible. He therefore wants a little PROOF that a new human is one of the 'good' ones before he extends his trust - he will be very shy for the first week or two in a new home, but if you continue to offer him gentle patience you will get a wonderful, loving, playful friend who just wants to be wherever you are as much as possible.

Gallant's date of birth is 7/28/2024.

Adoption fee is $150, which includes spay/neuter, current on vaccines, microchip, dewormed and free vet visit to be used within 5 days of adoption.

Our adoption center is open Saturdays from 11 to 4 and Sundays from 12 to 4. We are located inside the West Valley Mall in Tracy, 3200 Naglee Road in suite 452. We are a foster-based rescue so not ALL available cats and kittens will attend every weekend.

Our Vision

To rescue and nurture companion animals with the mission of finding them safe and happy adoptive homes. To create community awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering to avoid overpopulation and reduce the community euthanasia rate.

A Brief History

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In 2002, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for more than 5,000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations.
