My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the handsome love-bug, Harley, aka the Captain's dog

His is a story we are hearing all the time now. Abandoned by people on the streets. Found at Rancho Palos Verdes HS, emaciated and fearful. A kind-hearted police captain stepped up and took him in, and instead of taking him to a shelter called a rescuer. LisaMarie at HugHearts Foundation, who of course stepped up to save him.

Sadly, no one claimed him, but he seems like a family dog and would be wonderful with children.

This fun-loving fella is approximately 1-year-8 months and looks like a Belgian Shepherd/Labrador-Retriever blend with a St Bernard tail.

Harley loves water (the lab in him for sure!) and needs a yard to play independently with his toys.
He is kennel/ crate trained, walks great on a leash, and is completely house broken. leash, and potty trained.

Of course, Harley is neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, and is microchipped.
He’s very well trained in his basic puppy manners and is easy to manage, and he’s a puppy at heart pup who runs and plays around as a puppy should.

Since we think Harley was a family pet, he’d likely do well with kids and would also make a great hiking and walking buddy.

I am a firm believer is having potential adopters take a pup home for a “sleepover” to see how your family, your other pets, and your new best buddy all get along. We always take our rascals back if it isn’t a good fit.

To meet this beautiful pupper and the rest of my foster pups (and maybe even have a sleepover), pls

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are a small, self-funded group of animal lovers. All of our pets are fostered in private homes, so they are social, outgoing, and healthy little rascals.

I have an application I can email to you, and a contract that says that you will love, cherish and care for your adopted companion animal. If for any reason you can't keep your new buddy, you must return him or her to me.

Of course, the adoption covers all shots, the spay or neuter, and whatever incidentals the rascal needs to be a healthy and happy buddy.

Go meet their pets

Each posting has the contact info for the correct foster, so pls contact the right person. I couldn't have all these rascals at my place, but my fellow-foster mommas are wonderful and they can tell you all about the rascals they are caring for.

I live in Ramona, and if you visit, you can meet my farm animals (I have my own petting zoo!) at the same time. I foster everything from hens to horses, and all of my critters have wonderful personalities and are well socialized with other dogs, cats, farm animals, and children.

More about this rescue

We are a small self-funded group of people who love animals - we consider them gifts to the earth and they deserve love, good health, care, and forever homes.

I rescue and foster dogs and cats, puppies and kittens -- even farm animals. I do this because I love these creatures and do not believe in breeding any animals. As long as these wonderful critters are already here, they deserve the best chance we can give them.

These lovely creatures are God's gifts, and I firmly believe animals are good for us -- imagine the smile a little rascal will put on your face after a rough day at the office or a tough commute home!
