Baxter is a 8-9 year old mixed breed that we had since a puppy. He has been a great boy - loves to relax, go on long walks, great with people/dogs/children.
Since the birth of our two boys a couple years ago, he has developed separation anxiety and general anxiety that is not responsive any longer to his Fluoxetine prescription and behavioral interventions. With our time at work, he will often hurt himself scratching or biting his crate, or when not crated, may bite at furniture. Our children’s noise seems to make him more anxious these days. He would love a household with another dog, a retiree, or a work from home family. We don’t have the resources to meet his needs, but want to give him a chance at happiness and calmness in his later years. This tears me apart - I love him more than I can explain.
