My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chad had a rough upbringing before he ended up in our care, leading him to be quite timid and reserved. Chad has been making some great progress in the shelter however and has warmed up to pets and attention! He is currently being housed with his little buddy Spirit who we are hoping can go as a pair! Chad has made some great improvements since his hissing and spitting days and is learning that touch isn't all that bad. If you can help to give Chad a loving home - either by working with him in foster care, or by adopting and giving him the patience he needs to adjust to a calm human world - please contact us at (434) 985-3203, or by applying to foster or adopt and telling us a bit about yourself!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We ask potential adopters to fill out a matchmaker form. When they are ready to adopt an animal and the form and interview process indicates a good match, we have the adopter sign an adoption contract promising that the animal will receive good physical and emotional care. Fees vary and we often have adoption specials. Fees for senior pets are sponsored. Otherwise, dogs are $100, puppies $150 and up, cats are $75, kittens are $95.
