🐾 Meet Francine (Fran) — a quiet soul looking for a very special kind of home 🐾
Francine came from a severe hoarding case in Memphis, where she spent her life confined in a cage with dozens of other dogs. Because of this, she never learned how to be a typical “pet” dog — and that’s important to understand from the start.
Fran is not aggressive. She is not mean.
She is simply feral-minded and deeply shy around people.
She is the kind of dog who may never seek cuddles, may not enjoy being picked up, and may not always want to be touched. She’s more of a quiet observer — a gentle presence who prefers space and independence. Think “roommate dog,” not “lap dog.”
But here’s the beautiful part: Fran loves other dogs.
They are her comfort, her security, and her language.
Because of this, having other dogs in the home is a requirement for Francine. She feels safest and happiest when she has canine companions around her. She would do best in a calm, predictable home with experienced dog owners who understand shy or undersocialized dogs.
🏡 Francine’s ideal home:
• Must have other dogs
• Must have a securely fenced yard
• Must have a doggie door so she can come and go on her own terms
• Quiet, patient humans with no expectations of cuddles or constant affection
• A home that will let her simply exist and feel safe
Fran is fully vetted and potty trained, and she loves the simple things:
🌿 Running in the yard
🐶 Being near other dogs
🐦 Barking at birds
🛏️ Napping in her safe space
👀 Watching the world quietly from a distance
She may never be the dog who runs to greet guests or climbs into your lap — but she will be the dog who slowly learns that your home is safe, your presence is kind, and her life is finally peaceful.
Francine is looking for someone who doesn’t need a dog to perform affection, but instead wants to offer a sanctuary to a dog who has never truly had one. 💛
