My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sir Quacks A Lot is a handsome 9-year-old grey gentleman with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This affectionate boy truly loves his people and is happiest when he's soaking up full-body pets from someone he trusts. He'll gladly lean in, purr, and enjoy the attention-on his terms, of course.

True to his noble name, Sir Quacks A Lot has a wonderfully independent streak and doesn't appreciate being told what to do. He knows his own mind and prefers a home that respects his boundaries and lets him set the pace. In return, he offers loyal companionship, plenty of affection, and the charming quirks that make him one of a kind.

If you're looking for a sweet, confident, and slightly sassy senior cat who loves affection but values his autonomy, Sir Quacks A Lot may be the perfect match for you. Please fill out our online application or stop by the shelter during open hours to meet this special boy!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
