My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Taz & Sherbert – A Perfect Pair of Orange Tabby Brothers!
Taz and Sherbert are an adorable duo of orange tabby brothers looking for a loving home—together they are a dream, but they’re wonderful individually too.
Taz is the life of the party! He’s very chatty, full of personality, and a total snuggler. If you’re looking for a kitten who will talk back, curl up with you, and make you laugh daily, Taz is your guy.
Sherbert is the quieter, more reserved brother—but don’t let that fool you. He’s incredibly sweet, affectionate in his own gentle way, and blossoms once he feels comfortable. Sherbert is slightly bigger than his brother and has lighter coloring on his face, making him easy to spot. He’s the calm balance to Taz’s exuberance.
Both boys are:
Playful and loving
Great with other cats
Wonderful with children
Likely to adjust well to a home with dogs
These brothers are the perfect mix of energy, affection, and heart. Whether you’re looking for nonstop entertainment, cozy cuddles, or both—Spaz and Sherbert are ready to fill your home with love (and a little orange tabby mischief!).

More about this rescue

H.A.L.O. is the East Contra Costa County Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization, better known as H.A.L.O. We are a nonprofit, all volunteer, 501c(3) charitable organization who assists dogs, cats and their owners in Eastern Contra Costa County.
We rescue approximatly 500 animals a year, all by volunteers, all in our homes and in our hearts.
We are not a shelter,
We have grant funds for the spaying and neutering of East County ferals and food for them if needed.
We have a program called "Angel Ears" where certified dogs and their trainers go to the local libraries and the children read to the dogs. This has proven a very effective way to increase reading skills rapidly. We also take the dogs to senior facilities.
We are in need of volunteer in many capacities.
