My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Al (aka Big Al, Alfredo de Linguine, or Alfie!)
Al is a handsome, declawed orange tabby with a big heart and an even bigger love for naps. Estimated to have been born in the summer of 2021 and weighing in at just over 16 lbs, Al is a sturdy, incredibly shy, sweet, quirky boy who is looking for a new forever home after his previous owner sadly had to enter a nursing home.
Al came into rescue as Big Al, but his foster family lovingly calls him Al, Alfie, or Alfredo de Linguine—because a cat this charming deserves options. Al will thrive with a patient, calm person who matches his gentle nature. He enjoys peaceful days filled with naps and sleeps at night with his foster mom or one of the foster teens. He pays little attention to the resident cat or the geriatric small dog in the home.
His foster family says he may be the easiest cat ever—he eats, sleeps, and has impeccable litter box manners. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, loyal companion and are willing to give Al the time and patience he deserves, he could be your perfect match.

Additional adoption info

FEES:
Dogs are $225
Puppies under 1 year are $275
Cats and kittens are $185

All animals have been spayed/neutered, received age appropriate vaccinations, had a heart-worm test, a Feline Leukemia test and a fecal check and are dewormed, microchipped and current on heart-worm and flea preventative medications at the time of adoption.

Adopters must be 21 and have a valid Texas driver’s license or a state-issued ID that matches the home address. If new to the area, a utility bill in the name of adopter will suffice. Renters must present proof of pet deposit or landlord approval to have a pet.

We require that you visit with a pet and adoption counselor. We prefer that all family members be present when the pet is introduced to its potential new family. Current pets are welcomed and encouraged to be part of the meeting too.

If a good match is found, adopters complete an application. Same day adoptions may be done; however, Habitat 4 Paws reserves the right to request a home visit prior to adoption. We do not hold pets nor do we adopt on a first-come/first-serve basis.

Go meet their pets

Nearly every weekend our pets that are ready for adoption are featured at locations such as Petsmart, Pet Supplies Plus and other locations. We can also arrange visits throughout the week. Check out the Events page of our website for a current schedule of events: www.habitat4paws.org.

More about this rescue

The mission of H4P is to rescue and find permanent homes for dogs and cats while caring for them in a volunteer-staffed facility and foster program. We are currently raising funds for a building and in the interim are a foster based group.

Beyond just sheltering animals, we are proactive in other areas that will help keep animals out of municipal shelters. Paws Pantry animal-food bank collects and distributes dog and cat food to those in need. H4P hosts microchip clinics so that animals will have a permanent ID and can be reunited with their owners.
