My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stella! currently on doctor-ordered Chill Mode™ (but emotionally still a party). Looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt

At 1 year old and the perfect size (around 30 pounds), Stella is a black lab/pit mix with Olympic-level wiggles… temporarily benched while her leg heals. She’s recovering beautifully from a broken leg and has 20 more days (until approximately Feb 8, 2026) of strict crate rest before she’s cleared for full zoomies. (The zoomies are already scheduled. She just can’t attend yet.)

Right now, Stella is seeking a quiet, calm foster or foster-to-adopt home where the biggest adventure of the day is moving from crate to couch to your lap. She is crate trained, house trained, and fully convinced that every lap she encounters is meant for her. Her favorite hobbies include:

*Crawling into your lap like she’s been invited
*Rolling dramatically onto her back
*Demanding belly rubs as if they’re written into the Constitution

She’s energetic, loving, and very wiggly, even while resting. When playtime resumes, she can be a little mouthy, so she’d do best with older kids who understand enthusiastic puppy play.

Once she’s healed. Oh buddy. Stella will be ready for an active family who appreciates a dog that treats toys like sacred objects and friendships like a lifelong contract. Hand her a toy and she’s yours forever.

For now, she needs a foster home or a foster-to-adopt home full of human affection, patience, and crate-rest compliance—basically a soft place to land while she recharges her batteries. Once she is released from crate-rest she will ready for an active family or individual who is looking for an energetic, playful pup.

To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
