My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chowda is a handsome medium-haired orange tabby kitten about 4-5 months old (DOB about 9/1/25).  He LOVES everyone as soon as he meets them.  He is fearless and knows no strangers.  He is VERY playful and active.  He loves to play with toys or other cats and is never bored.  He likes to be held and to snuggle.  He lives with and gets along well with cats and dogs, and we think he'd be great with kids.  He is negative for feline leukemia and aids, had his first distemper and the rabies vaccine, been wormed, had advantage for fleas, and been vet checked and neutered.  Additional distemper booster vaccine included in adoption fee.   If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 (Land line) or hhfrey1@tds.net

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are required to complete our application before adoption. Our adoption fee varies based on the age and breed of the cat. The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

At this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email hhfrey1@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.

More about this rescue

Stray Connection is a small organization of private foster homes (no shelter or store-front) that takes in kittens/cats from shelters outside of Knoxville that are typically high-kill, low-funded. These cats are brought to Knoxville where they receive the necessary vet care. Because our cats live in private homes, we know them well. It is our mission to make the best match of the cat's personality and individual needs with an approved adopter.
