Duke Benjamin Purrington, Protector of Laps (known in intimate domestic circles as Benji)
Duke Benjamin Purrington emerged from the unforgiving streets with a constitution forged by adversity and a disposition softened by an extraordinary fondness for affection. Though born to feral circumstances, he has embraced civilized life with uncommon enthusiasm and now conducts himself as a gentleman of leisure whose principal duty is the safeguarding of laps.
The Duke is renowned for his prodigious purr—an instrument of such volume and persistence that it may reasonably be mistaken for industrial machinery. He is playful, devoted, and inclined toward jealousy when affections are divided, a flaw best understood as evidence of his sincere attachment. He favors being held like a swaddled infant and responds particularly well to chest rubs, at which point all resistance to his charms collapses entirely.
Former Street Credentials: Once survived by instinct alone, navigating the rougher quarters with no assurances of warmth or regular meals. Retired from street life upon discovering that humans could be trusted, laps were plentiful, and affection might be demanded without shame.
Present Standing: Esteemed companion, indefatigable snuggler, and vigilant protector of all seated persons.

The mission of One Love Animal Rescue, Inc. is to help abandoned, neglected, abused and unwanted pets by partnering with shelters, rescue groups and the community to facilitate adoption of these animals into permanent and loving homes.
Our goal is to save one life at a time by promoting local animal shelter adoptions and raising awareness in our community about responsible pet ownership. We strive to highlight the importance of spaying or neutering pets which will aid in the reduction of overpopulation. We believe that appropriate and positive reinforcement training and socialization of these shelter animals will lead to well-adjusted family pets, thereby decreasing the number of abandoned animals in shelters. Our dream is that one day all the shelters will be empty because every pet will have a home.
