Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Frosting 🤍
Frosting is a gentle boy with a soft heart who is still learning that the world can be kind.
He was rescued as part of one of the most severe neglect cases the Humane Society of Greater Dayton has faced in recent years. Coming from an environment with 33 other animals where they endured long-term filth, confinement, and neglect, it’s completely understandable that Frosting is a bit nervous as he adjusts to a new, safer life.
At first, he may seem unsure—but give him a moment and a few gentle cheek scratches, and you’ll see the magic happen. Frosting leans right in and melts into the affection, clearly enjoying the attention and showing just how much love he has to give. Beneath his nerves is a cat with tremendous potential to be sweet, loving, and devoted.
Frosting is currently in our open cat room, where we hope he will continue to gain confidence and begin to flourish. He will do best with a patient, understanding adopter who can help him feel safe and move at his own pace. With consistency, kindness, and time, Frosting’s true personality will shine.
Now receiving the care and comfort he deserves, Frosting is ready for the next chapter of his life—a calm, loving home where he can finally feel secure and loved. 🐾✨

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
