1 year old | Under 10 lbs | Chihuahua mix

Scarecrow may look like he’s made of straw, but don’t worry, this boy definitely has brains.

The smallest of the group at under 10 lbs, Scarecrow is built like a tiny fawn with long legs, wispy straw-colored hair, and a gentle, friendly nature. He’s the most trusting of the bunch and greets the world with curiosity instead of caution.

As a chihuahua mix with a blend of other breeds, Scarecrow is light on his feet and big on charm. He’s affectionate, social, and eager to be included in whatever adventure comes next, even if that adventure is just a walk to the couch.

Scarecrow would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to grow his confidence and soak up attention. No crows to chase here, just hearts to steal.

His adoption fee is $200 and this includes his neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, monthly preventions, and a microchip that we register for you.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees for dogs includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention, heart worm tested, and microchip registration.

Adult Dogs: $200
Puppies: $225

Cat adoption fees include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, FIV/FeLV testing, flea and tick prevention, and microchip registration.

Adult Cats: $75 (or $125 for a pair)
Kittens: $90 (or $150 for a pair)

Since 1979, the Effingham County Humane Society has been committed to serving Effingham County, IL and the surrounding area. We are located in the former Funkhouser School, and our non-profit shelter is sustained by volunteers, fundraising, contributions, and adoption fees.

The goal of the Effingham County Humane Society is to reduce animal suffering in our county through educating and promoting responsible pet ownership, including spaying/neutering pets, appropriate pet identification, proper pet care, and the quality adoption of homeless pets.
