My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Willow (professional goofball)

Willow is a 6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who is equal parts sweet, silly, and slightly confused by modern architecture. She’s on the hunt for her forever home and is ready to bring laughs along with lots of love.

Willow loves car rides and walks and does great with other dogs—including her very patient 2-year-old Vizsla brother. She’d prefer a cat-free home (cats are… suspicious). She does resource guard her food bowl, but otherwise happily shares bones, toys, humans, and affection without issue.

She comes fully equipped with an undocked tail and dew claws—because she’s a natural, thank you very much. Willow is a total sweetheart who is still mastering life skills like sliding glass doors and determining which side is, in fact, the door. We’re confident she’ll figure it out… eventually.

If you’re looking for a loving, goofy companion who will keep you smiling, Willow might just be your girl

Willow is being fostered in Lincoln, Nebraska. Complete the adoption form here: ADOPT ME

Adopting from Great Plains Pointer Rescue is a thoughtful process. Our goal is not to place dogs as quickly as possible, but to place them well.

More about this rescue

German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue in Nebraska and Iowa
Great Plains Pointer Rescue (GPPR) is a volunteer run, foster based nonprofit dedicated to German Shorthaired Pointers and GSP mixes. Our dogs live in real homes, not kennels, which allows us to understand their personalities, needs, and challenges before placing them.
