My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poinsettia!

Poinsettia is a sweet older girl who is ready for a second chance at love. She was sadly found abandoned in a home when her family moved away and left her behind. Now safely in our care, she is spayed, fully vetted, and ready to find a loving forever home.

Born approximately December 26, 2013, Poinsettia is a gentle, affectionate senior who would thrive in a low-key, calm home. She would do well with older, respectful children and truly loves everyone she meets. Her kind heart and loving nature make her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, loyal friend.

Poinsettia deserves a warm, safe home where she can finally relax and be cherished the way she should have been all along.

Ready to adopt Poinsettia?
Apply online at eastshoreha.org. Once your application is received and approved, you can visit the shelter during open cat adoption hours:

Mondays: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Fridays: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Please apply before stopping by—approved applicants may take their new cat home the same day!

Poinsettia can’t wait to meet her forever family.

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
