My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5707540 Say hello to Oreo , a 5-month-old German Shepherd mix puppy as soft and sweet as his name! With his velvety smoke-colored coat and the faintest white on his tiny paws, he’s an irresistible little cloud of cuteness. A bit shy and overwhelmed in the shelter right now, Oreo is just waiting for a loving home where he can feel safe, decompress, and blossom into the amazing pup he’s meant to be. Like all young pups, he’ll need help with the basics - leash training, potty training, obedience, and socialization - but he’s a blank slate full of potential and a ton of heart. Investing a little time, patience, and love into Oreo now means a lifetime of unbreakable bonds and shared adventures. This sweet boy won’t stay available for long - come scoop up your little sweet shadow today!

-5 month old black and white German Shepherd mix puppy

-23 pound male - has not been neutered yet due to having a little doggy cold, but he’s been treated and is free to have his neuter done now that he is symptom free!

-up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! May need to be adopted on a health waiver due to the delayed neuter, but the shelter can clarify if this is still the case

-came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 6/28/25 as an internal transfer from another shelter

-velvety smoke cloud of a pup, with the faintest hint of white accenting his adorable puppy paws

-sweet and cuddly, a little overwhelmed at the shelter - will bloom into his true self once safe and cozy in a loving home willing to give him the time and space to decompress

-as a young pup, will need all the puppy basics - leash work, potty training, basic obedience/commands, and continued socialization with both other people and pups

-may require an upfront investment of time, resources, and a whole lotta love, but you'll be richly rewarded with the unique experience of learning and growing together over a lifetime

-this sweet treat is a hot commodity, so come scoop him up ASAP!

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
