My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What has no tail, loves toys, is a great walking partner, and is equally spunky and cute?

Well, that would have to be Rosemary!

This girl is smarts and sweetness in a half-pint package. It would be easy to look at her and expect a full-size dog but in reality she is about as big as her tail (which is basically a nub,) at a whole 27 lbs. Full-size love, small-size package.
See for yourself then come back to read more about Rosemary- https://youtu.be/Z2eaqaaJdnM

Rosemary is the kind of dog who leans in for pets right away- she will nuzzle your hand and ask for more love with those bright eyes. Other times she will basically throw your arm out of the way by nudging it with her nose so she can get right in that side-saddle cuddle spot. We love a girl who knows what she wants and gets it! Her love of people does not stop at the little ones- she instantly connected with 7 year old Cash when she met him. From the moment they met she gave him love and gentle kisses, someone even asked if they had already met- thats how loving and familiar the meeting was.

With dogs, Rosemary is great company. She’s a thinker and an observer, over being the playful type- preferring calm energy over chaos. Leash greetings with new dogs are polite and friendly and when the group of dogs gets to playing and rough housing- Rosemary will happily watch from the sidelines with a peaceful presence. She does best with mellow dogs who respect her space and will happily coexist without crowding her. This is also a girl that would be perfectly happy as an only-dog. You and yours are all she really needs or wants.

With people, she’s pure affection. She will thrive in a home that appreciates her adoring loyalty and smarts, maybe with a yard where she can wander and sniff to her heart’s content, or even an apartment with enriching walks and a comfy couch to call her own. One small no for her is simple- no cats for this girl (she’s a little too curious about them), but kids? She’s shown she’s wonderful with them and would make a great tag-along gal for adventures. She has just the right mix of playful and polite for gentle children.

Equal parts independent spirit and cuddle connoisseur, in other words, your dream dog!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
