My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We received a call to pick up a puppy from a breeder that had a cherry eye and upon arrival we were asked if we would take in Miley. They said they had just sold her last puppy and they were retiring her from breeding. So on 12/16/25 Miley finally got to take her freedom walk out of the life of breeding for profit. Miley has been with us in rescue since 12/16/25. She is doing very well with coming out of her shell. She has been fully vetted and is ready for the start of a new lifw where she will be loved in a home. She is still timid with strangers and will need a quiet home with a fenced yard to keep her safe as she is not leash trained. Her yard must be dog safe, which means no electric/invisible fencing and secure where she cant get out of it. Miley is a small girl at just 19 pounds. Miley is a beautiful chocolate merle color and she does have 2 different color eyes. Miley has a birth date of 5/11/19. As far as being house trained goes, Miley has never lived in a home. She has been in our adoption center for over a month now and has not once had an accident. She faithfully uses her doggy door to go outside to potty. We believe she will settle in to her new home great woth some time and patience. Miley does well with other respectful dogs. She does not like dogs to come at her in a dominant way or try to play with her unless she has gotten use to them. An older fur sibling her size would be best for her. No puppies or active large dogs. We know this is asking alot in a home, however we ALWAYS want to place our rescues in the best fit for them and their adopter. If you are interested in her adoption please text or email us to request an application.

Additional adoption info

We do require an application/contract to be filled out and approved prior to scheduling to meet our rescues. All dogs/puppies will be spayed/neutered before adoption. If they are under 6 months of age they will go home on a spay/neuter contract that states they will have to be altered no later then 6 months of age. All adoption fees go towards the care of our homeless animals. The next heartworm positive dog that comes in, those strays that are dumped out and hit by a passing car, sick puppies, spays for those poor mommy dogs who have had a litter of pups every heat season, and any of those special needs babies who may need medications for the rest of their lives. All adoption fees do vary.

Go meet their pets

All of our adoptions are by scheduled appointment only. We do not have open adoption hours. You must have an approved application prior to scheduling an appointment. We are located in Denver Indiana 46926. We. Do require all potential adopters to come to us to adopt. We do not meet with our rescues as we like the adopter to meet the rescues in an environment they are use to being in so they feel safe.

More about this rescue

We are a home based rescue with a heated and air conditioned adoption center that the rescues are very well cared for in. They all have large inside spaces where they are very comfortable, with doggy doors leading to their play yards outside. We do not crate or cage any of our rescues. They are on free feed and water and in the warm months everyone has a pool in their play yard to enjoy if they like. We work with several rescues to help transport, find fosters, or help make room by moving dogs to other no kill rescues/shelters. We would like to send a special THANK YOU out to all the wonderful rescues we have been working with in the past 16 years. You are all wonderful people and do a GREAT JOB. We all know how much time and hard work it takes to rescue an animal, let alone many homeless babies. Good luck to you all in rescue. We would also like to thank anyone and everyone who has adopted a pet, wether it was one of Forever Paws pups or any other rescue. All of these homeless animals need a forever home and its wonderful there are people who adopt.
