Trellis loves to be your buddy regardless of what you’re doing. She will lie on your lap or next to you for hours on end while you do work, or help you procrastinate doing work by asking for pets. She also loves to cozy up next to you in bed and has no issues sleeping through the night. Trellis loves to be pet, trills when she’s happy, and her tail even wags like a dog when she is very excited. Her go-with-the-flow attitude would make her a stellar addition to any home!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
