My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dallae

10-month-old | Neutered Male | Jindo–Husky Mix

Weight: 16 kg

Height: 54 cm (shoulder)

Colour: Brown & Black

Rescue Story

Dallae was rescued from a city shelter just before euthanasia.

He is from the same litter as Bomdong, who was already adopted in Vancouver — which means Dallae comes from a line of sweet, people-oriented dogs who do beautifully in home environments.

Personality with People

Dallae is extremely affectionate and people-focused.

He loves both men and women and will happily lean into strangers, cuddle, and seek comfort and closeness. He has a gentle “velcro-dog” personality — he wants to be near his humans and often rests against them or curls into their arms rather than being fully picked up.

He has not lived with children, but when passing kids on walks he shows no fear or reactivity.

With Other Dogs

Dallae is friendly and social with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and often approaches others to say hello and initiate play.

However, when his human is nearby, he can become a little protective — he may “talk back” to other dogs in a “that’s my person” way. This is not aggression, but rather a confidence boost that comes from being close to his human.

He tends to feel more comfortable with dogs his own size or smaller, and can be overwhelmed by very large dogs. Once comfortable, he plays very nicely — especially in one-on-one settings.

With Cats

Dallae has not been tested with cats yet, but testing can be arranged if needed.

Energy Level

Moderate energy.

He loves to play — especially fetch, toys, and one-on-one playtime — and can happily play for a long time.

He is not a nonstop runner; he prefers interactive games and focused play rather than chaotic group zoomies.

Walking & Leash Skills

Dallae has solid walking experience.

He may pull a little, but overall he follows his handler well and does not have sudden or unpredictable reactions on leash.

Other Notes

• Does not guard food with people or dogs

Does have some toy possessiveness — he can share, but if another dog tries to take his toy, he may argue, so supervised play is recommended

• Kennel trained and enters crates without stress

• Rides calmly in a car crate

• Currently uses outdoor potty

The barking or “acting tough” you may see around other dogs when he is near people is very common in sensitive, people-attached dogs living in group environments — and we fully expect this to disappear once he is in a calm home setting.

Dallae is a loving, affectionate, and emotionally bonded dog who will thrive in a home where he can be someone’s “best boy.”

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
